Critical Race Theory

It’s quite amusing when some first
Defend it with persistence,
Then—feigning that they’ve not reversed—
Deny its whole existence.

Federal Government Logic

The National Park Service says
That animals should not be fed,
Since it ends self-sufficiency
When handouts can be sought instead.

Meanwhile the USDA gave
Free meals and food stamps out last year
To nearly 50 million folks
With somehow no dependence fear.

Sex vs. Gender

      Thanks Cynthia. Yes, logic is just one of the many shortages under the regime of President Harris, I mean Biden. Sadly though, my loads of laundry have yet to be impacted.

    Russel, I spent about twelve years as a legal secretary. What was I thinking? I’d love to see some wry humor on the legal field, lawyers then & now, etc.

      Cheryl – legal secretaries do very important work. I appreciated mine immensely. Here’s a response to your poem request:

      POST-ARREST INEVITABILITY

      When someone gets arrested
      For a “white collar” crime,
      Two other things then happen
      Almost all of the time.

      A neighbor says: “He seemed so nice!
      A dark side? No one knew it!”
      Then criminal defense attorneys
      Swear he didn’t do it.

    Nice to see some light verse in this season of dolorous discourse and delirious diction.
    We seem to have become craven hypocondriacs all. Don’t give the ship, Russel – we can still laugh, even when going down for the third time!
