‘Trudeau’s Canada’ and Other Poetry by Norma Pain

Trudeau’s Canada

Jab them all,
Big and small.
Small are buffer
And must suffer.
No opinions,
Little minions.
Cover traces
Of their faces,
With a mask,
Do not ask.
Issue orders
Across borders.
What the Hell,
Some rebel.
They call you clown,
Just double-down.
Drop the hammer,
Use the slammer.
Some protested
Get arrested.
Use all forces,
Cops on horses.
Their giant shoes,
Trample views,
Crush each flower,
Such is power.
Stoke the fears,
Ignore the tears.
Children’s cries,
Are the prize.
Practice stealth,
Keep the wealth.
Thump your chest,
You passed the test
Of your peers.
Hear their cheers.
You’ve reached your goal,
You’ve lost your soul.

.

.

The Blackest Gates

The Hounds of Hell are alive and well,
__And the Devil, he leads the pack.
With his hollow gaze till the end of days,
__And his vision, the blackest black.
His desire to win and to pierce your skin,
__And to poison your very soul,
Makes his mandate clear to each open ear,
__Domination! Complete control!

The Hounds of Hell are alive and well,
__And the masses are numb with fear,
And they line the streets with their twits and tweets,
__Awaiting their panacea.
Like an un-cracked nut with their eyes blind-shut,
__Their refusal to see beyond,
What they hear each day from the media sway,
__Dispensed by a sorcerer’s wand.

The Hounds of Hell are alive and well,
__And the passports you hold will bind you.
You can bury your head, how about play dead,
__In the hopes that they’ll never find you.
Do you see your fate, are you up-to-date,
__With each vaccine that they decree?
Cause you must comply, twill be do or die,
__Whether or not you agree.

The Hounds of Hell are alive and well,
__And awaiting their final feast.
They have set their bait, now they salivate,
__At the feet of the ruling beast.
While we hesitate, it may be too late,
__To recant from our smug nose-thumbing.
Could the whole world slide into genocide—
__Cause we didn’t see it coming?

Permission to Dance

Dr. Bonnie Henry is the Provincial Health Officer for British Columbia, Canada

Thank you, Dr. Bonnie Henry,
You are much too kind,
But obviously you have now
Completely lost your mind.
You’ve written up a brand-new set,
Of silly little rules,
Announcing them straight-faced to us,
But we are not your fools.

You tell us in your very soothing,
Kind and gentle voice,
That we are now “allowed to dance,”
You’ve given us that choice.
Allowed to sashay cheek to cheek,
Recapture social graces,
All rapturous and googly-eyed,
Behind our diapered faces!

Thank you, Dr. Henry,
Your benevolence is touching.
We’ll grab whatever crumbs you throw,
Our grateful hands are clutching
At anything you grant us
As we rise from this abyss,
And would you kindly let us know
When we’re allowed to kiss.

Thank you, Dr. Bonnie Henry,
How you do inspire us,
To follow all your crazy rules,
For dealing with this virus.
A virus that is airborne,
That can float about with ease,
And that’s before we breathe or cough,
Or snigger, laugh or sneeze!

So thank you, Dr. Henry,
You have proven once again,
That you are just another chicken,
In the chicken pen, while
Your rooster, Mr. Trudeau,
Now surrounds himself with snails,
While trying to ensure his mollusks
Leave no slimy trails.

Very good, Ms Paine, especially the 3rd. It strikes me that both the federal & most of the provincial governments are operating on the level of primary-school students, if not that of the occupants of a sandbox. Unfortunately, the giants of the reset will do their best to see that their puppets continue to do so.

I agree, and fear you may be correct. We see them continuing to ignore, deflect and count on the sandbox occupants who are too busy playing with their toys to see what is happening. Thank you for commenting Julian.

All really good, Norma. I think “Trudeau’s Canada” is the best, and I’m sure you wish as I do that there was a stronger rhyme word for the “Trample views” line. Even “Trample, bruise, crush each flower” isn’t forceful enough for attempted murder. I saw it happen, then saw it again on Cable News Network while I was in a store with a big screen. I raised my voice to point out that the horses had trampled a woman, and one of the bystanders said, “Yeah, they whupped her ass.” How many collaborator souls (beyond those of Canadian flunky officeholders) have been lost? But that’s why you had to write “The Blackest Gates” about the hounds of hell.

Thank you for your comments Margaret. ‘Trudeau’s Canada’, I spit out in a hurry and sent off because I was so upset with his actions. Using extraordinary measures for control of a “fringe minority”, just demonstrates his poor use of his brain, if he even has one. If he does then his actions are extremely suspect at a more ominous level.

Norma, you have my greatest respect. You’ve shone a spotlight on demonic deeds and called the devil out with courage and poetic flair. Your words are the shining truth in a dark world that’s lost its way… they’re the ray of sunshine in the fanged face of a vampire…and the painful bite on the arrogant arse of the tyrannical Trudeaus of the world. You are a poet after my own heart. Thank you for your admirably conceived honesty. I especially like, “You’ve reached your goal,
/You’ve lost your soul.” – it says it all, plainly, clearly and poetically. Thank you!

Thank you Susan. You have certainly inspired me with your clever, honest and brave poetry and I hope others continue to condemn the bullying tactics of some of our leaders. I am so sick of donning a mask in stores and am amazed at the number of people that still wear them when out on the streets or in their cars. An anonymous quote that should be displayed everywhere: ‘Think…. while it is still legal’.

Norma, calling out hypocrisy, idiocy, and villainy is our duty as fair-minded people and you’ve done it beautifully. I love the quote. I’m never giving up my gift… the gift of an independent train of thought which affords me a unique take on my surrounds and the ability to assess situations accordingly. That anonymous quote rocks, and I’ll be spreading the word far and wide. Thank you for standing up for what is right in a world gone wrong.

Trudeau’s Canada is great, and the other two poems are nice too. In The Blackest Gates, in the 14th line, the “They’re” looks like a typo to me. Shouldn’t it be “Their” ?

In Trudeau’s Canada, it looks like “Practise stealth” should probably be Practice stealth, according to my spell checker.

Two oopsies! Thank you Yael for pointing these two spelling errors out for me. I really appreciate it and will ask Evan (again) if he can correct for me. I must slow down and proofread thoroughly. Thank you for taking the time to comment and I am happy to hear that you enjoyed my poetry.

I feel your pain, and I can only commend you for your failure to knuckle-under to the prevailing winds. You might not understand how important it is for us U.S. Americans to emulate our neighbors to the north, in the spirit of solidarity. But, dammit, this shit matters.

Thank you C.B. This stuff does matter a great deal but like a lot of people, I ask, what can I do? Will anything I do make much difference. Almost everything we buy is made in China, since we all sold our souls many years ago for cheap Chinese products. My favorite comfortable jeans are made in China!!!

Norma, your three poems exemplify the latest news in Canada.

My favorite was “The Blackest Gates” and I particularly liked the following verse, although un-cracked is not hyphenated.

And the masses are numb with fear,
And they line the streets with their twits and tweets,
    __Awaiting their panacea.
Like an un-cracked nut with their eyes blind-shut,
    __Their refusal to see beyond,

You’ve done an exceptional job in the area of enlightenment. Thanks for three great poems.
