Cambridge Dictionary Women, 2040

In 2040 leftist sports fans
Realized their greatest joys,
With legendary women’s records
Smashed by athletes born as boys.

Serena Williams’, Brittney Griner’s
Records all erased, bar none.
Some liberals, long cowed to silence,
Rued alone: “What have we done?”

.

.

View from the Left

Twitter and the FBI conspired,
To hide facts as the Democrats desired,
Censoring the Biden family news,
Denying voters info they might use
In figuring their president selection,
Thus steering the result of the election.
Censorship suspected by the Right,
Confirmed by tweets that Musk has brought to light.
The Left just looks on most approvingly,
At this protection of democracy.

.

.

Tone of Voice

The words may be perfectly reasonable,
A message which needs to be said.
But if the voice tone conveys ire or disgust,
The fruit may be bitter instead.

.

.

Prejudice

The summer basketball league game
Would soon begin that night.
Two teams stepped quickly on the court,
One black, the other white.

The white team figured instantly
That it was bound to lose.
The black team sensed a victory,
As large as it would choose.

All prejudice is daft at best,
No better than a vice.
In every instance it’s plain wrong,
That night it blundered twice.

Each one of these poems hits the nail on the head. I especially liked your Cambridge Dictionary poem which is spot-on regarding the destructive consequences of redefining “woman” — negative consequences anyone but a fool can foresee. (Isn’t it telling that we don’t have transgender men trying to compete on all-male teams? A little hypocrisy happening there?)

I also especially enjoyed your View From the Left which observantly skewers leftists’ embrace of Machiavelli, i.e. that the end justifies the means, no matter how heinous, autocratic and/or hypocritical because they’re just so gosh-darn compassionate and nice and to hell with anyone who doesn’t agree.

Thanks, Russel, for giving sanity a voice.

Thanks Brian. Of all the toxic lunacy seen today, I’m most bothered by the fact that systematic totalitarian tactics are so un-troubling to so many.

You said it perfectly right there! I like all these poems, they express so succinctly a lot of things wrong with today’s world.

With Brian I thank you for giving sanity a voice.

Russel, you have encapsulated some of my thoughts perfectly! At some point the leftists will be left with their own lamentations.

Your poems are brief and to the point. I especially like their un-wokeness and the ridiculing of things like the redefining of a woman in Cambridge Dictionary.
