.

In the Garden of the King

In the garden of the King
I sit beside a crystal spring.
The Tree of Life shines up above
Fed by God’s eternal love.

The Rose of Sharon is in bloom
Freely giving sweet perfume.
Friends and loved ones everywhere.
The King is near! We see him there!

Angels’ voices start to sing
Hallelujahs to Christ the King.
Our hearts rejoice, our voices raise
Their tones to join the angels’ praise.

What an amazing way to feel.
I know by faith that it is real.
A vast reward for loyalty—
I am reborn to royalty.

Roy, your poem is heavenly. What a way to set the scene for Easter! Your last lines and final rhyme focus on the great promise of rebirth that we see in Our Lord’s resurrection. It is indeed a promise of royal rebirth for those who are loyal. Best wishes for Easter’s rewarding manifestation in yourself and in all those friends and loved ones you mention!

Yes! “What an amazing way to feel!” This snapshot of Heaven, which we consider especially in this season brings much hope and joy.
“Reborn to royalty” is a wonderful phrase.

This is outstanding Roy. I can’t say which line is my favorite, because I read it three times, and my choice kept changing. Can I select the whole final stanza? Great work!
