poems 'Election Correction': A Poem by Richard Lackman

.

Election Correction

Newsome, Whitmer, Pritzker, Hockel, Murphy
Have a strange idea of how things should be.
Then, of course, there’s Minnesota’s Walz
Simply watching folks destroy their malls.

This is not the country that I knew,
Only one that I had come to rue.
Not the land or home that’s free and brave
Nor one that a patriot would crave.

Democracy I thought was going down:
Candidates were judged by their renown in
Claiming that they know what’s best for me.
In the end they lacked integrity.

Thank our Lord that people still are wise
And saw our plight through educated eyes,
Making a political correction
With a Trump card played in our election.

.

.

Richard Lackman is an orthopaedic cancer surgeon and poet.

Perfect postelection poem for 2024! I had the same sentiments about where we were being compelled to go by unholy control freaks.
