God Knows
Tomorrow’s torched and trampled on the street.
__We hear the battle cry
Of demons dancing to the Devil’s beat
__As truth and faith run dry.
The skies are scorched with ever-rising heat
__As hope and daylight die—
So where are we supposed to go from here?
Our tortured history’s twisted out of shape
__By tongues that spin and skew.
The nights are rife with thugs and drugs and rape.
__The cops are far and few.
Our neutered heroes buckle, bow, and scrape
__To scum who run this zoo—
So where are we supposed to go from here?
Our liberty is rent and left for dead—
__Ripped at its ragged seams
By shrieking shills whose teeth and claws drip red
__With decimated dreams.
Our children swallow rancid rainbows fed
__By fiends who feed on screams—
So where are we supposed to go from here?
Our soldiers fight in wars on distant shores
__As terror steals our peace.
Corruption struts through unobstructed doors
__Assisted by police.
The bought and paid for cheat in charge ignores
__This nightmare that won’t cease—
So where are we supposed to go from here?
I burn to know; that’s why I’ve turned to you.
__My heart heaves with the weight
Of finding all I thought I knew untrue—
__A lie that’s laced with hate.
I’ve pushed on through the bluest hues of blue
__To wait outside your gate—
Please steer me through the chaos and the fear.

From a meme:
It didn’t start with gas chambers. It started with one party controlling the media. One party controlling the message. One party deciding what is truth. One party censoring speech and silencing opposition. One party dividing citizens into US and THEM and calling on their supporters to harass THEM. It started when good people turned a blind eye and let it happen.
