‘Rhyme to Me’ by Lee Nyary

March 28, 2017
in Culture, Poetry
A A
1

To me, to rhyme—
It is sublime
To others
But a waste of time

To match the sounds
Of words, they say
Promotes an
Aural truth-decay

To them I say
To rhyme’s the way!
To make the words
Run, jump, and play

Forget the rest
To rhyme’s the best!
To make the language
Laugh in jest

Lee Nyary is a poet who formerly served in the army. He resides in Elberta, Alabama.

I love your work – very similar (I think) to mine:
    If taxis have meters
    and poems do too
can I jump in a rhyme
for a trip to the zoo?
