An Open Poem to Evil
“Gravity is real… it’s hard to keep a bag of shit in the
air forever.” —Alex Wilhelm
You goofy spoofin’ kooks are pitchin’ poop.
You’re selling poison no one wants to buy.
A man can be a woman? That’s a scoop!
To groom and kill our kids is kind? My eye!
Those tales and more, you’re propping up so high
Because it’s worth your while to fly the Lie.
You’ll never blind the average gal or guy
Because we always have to know the “Why?”
We’re sovereign folks, we are not broke or woke.
Your load is heavy, we will not comply.
Gravity is real, it ain’t no joke.
Your sacks of crap are falling from the sky.

I feel the frustration in your words. And rightly so.
Thank you, Michael. I’m not frustrated at all… just dodging falling narratives…
What original and — shall I say pungent? — imagery! The metaphor makes perfect sense, and ought to open some eyes — er, noses? Thanks, Mike!
Thanks, Cynthia.
Thanks Mike for telling it like it is. They’re still launching those sacks, but at least a few are starting to fall.
They are launching them all too frequently, David… thanks.
Thanks for the heads up Mike. From now on I shall be carrying a sturdy umbrella with me at all times.
I might have to invest in a better umbrella, too. Thanks, Yael.
Popular diction of high significance! And I use “high” as polite slang for “smelly,” as well as meaning “way up there.”
Thank you, Margaret… I’m still considering the perfect word for your Uber priest…
Why don’t you let us know how you really feel, Mike?
I started to let you know how I really feel, but I toned it down.
Yeah, I can see that. I loved it, and it has as much punch as the famous Lizzie Borden poem.
The opening line is brilliant and the rest of the poem lives up to its promise. Your choice of imagery is perfectly disdainful and you’ve done well to bring such humour to a sick situation.
