Sapphire Space and Eden Green
“…and they saw the God of Israel; and under His
feet there appeared to be a pavement of
sapphire, as clear as the sky itself.” —Exodus 24
“I saw a new heaven and a new earth”
__—Revelation 21
O Son of God,
this ground you’ve trod,
Lo Savior Lord,
gird on your sword,
And guide our life
within the strife
Till warfare cease
—our Prince of Peace.
What haughty airs
within the lair;
What evil powers
that taunt, devour;
What crafted lies
and skilled disguise;
You put to flight
amid our fight.
Then at the end
When Time should rend—
Sapphire space,
fraternal grace.
Brother, Savior,
Father’s favor,
Engraved secure
So we endure—
Though smile be grim,
to fight with Him,
Reciprocate,
and gain the gate
Of Eden green,
where unforeseen,
What joy unfold
Now hid untold?

Paradise regained! Amen!
It’s coming. Uh, Jesus is coming back. He ate fish in his resurrected physical frame, so it’s not exclusively spiritual. We’ll see Him, look Him in the eye and shake his hand.
And the meek shall inherit the earth.
Nicely crafted dimeter.
Supernally beautiful, Alexander. While easy to read, it does ask for thought that slows down the tempo, and allows the large contemplation your epigraphs suggest.
