Poetic Justice
Poetic justice: a literary device whereby virtue is ultimately
rewarded and misdeeds punished, but only after an ironic
twist of fate.
“Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone,
it will roll back on them.” —Proverbs 26:27
Our justice system often fails pathetically,
but there are times when it prevails poetically,
and through a twist of fate, the ones who dug a pit
to trap their guiltless prey, instead fall into it.
Those at the top of our Deep State bureaucracy
conceived a plan to trample our democracy.
But those they sought to trap, and thought would soon be hanged,
are now in charge, and every scheme just boomeranged.
Transparency lets those in this new era see
the plotters of the Russia-gate conspiracy,
who stamp their feet and bluster, but they can’t escape
from all their lies that started with the “pee-pee” tape.
It’s time for us to see accountability
to maintain our societal stability.
The leaders of the Deep State who were in cahoots,
should all receive new custom-fitted orange suits.

Warren, we always see political and social issues the same way maybe because we are Texans. I love how you introduced your excellent poem with the poetic justice mention and the quote from Proverbs. The message is profound while there is still so much to unearth. There was no doubt in my mind the Clintons with their uranium deal were the ones beholden to the Russians and deserve punishment along with all the shenanigans of Biden and his mob crew.
I got to Texas as quickly as I could. 35 years and counting now. That Uranium One deal was mind-blowing and a very clear sign of who the Russians owned.
Let’s not deceive ourselves. Our government agencies are still honeycombed with Deep State left-liberals who will do anything within their power to destroy conservatives, Republicans, and anyone else who opposes their globalist agenda. Getting rid of 37 traitorous intelligence officials is only dealing with the tip of the iceberg.
There’s definitely a little bit of wishful thinking in the poem. It’s a good start, but there is a long way to go and many obstacles in the way of truly getting justice (poetic or otherwise).
Beautifully put, Warren. The Deep-Staters are all in panic. They never believed that Trump could or would be re-elected. The problem is, it’s difficult to prosecute those who attain and have held high levels of office (like Fauci, Comey, the Clintons).
They used every weapon available to them and things are now boomeranging. It’s good to see some of the untouchables nervous. We need to see a few prosecutions stick or else things will never change.
Warren, Amen! You have eloquently expressed the rancor of the elitist’s who should be tried for treason; yet they continue to try and undermine Trump in their greedy political battle for power. I wonder…does it ever end?
So many illegal activities have been exposed, and they continue to this day. I think it only ends when some high-profile individuals face the consequences they deserve. There’s a legitimate shot, but still a long way to go.
Our national bird is now an ill eagle. Hang ’em all, and if hangin’ is too good for them, well … I can think of a few things. The boomerang rhyme is superb, and the general tenor should strike those lizards in their gizzards.
Perfect poem, Warren! Thanks for the great read!
Good to see this said poetically, Warren. Even a little transparency and accountability bring relief. Tulsi Gabbard is a star among current officialdom, showing others how to proceed.
