Three Kittens Went to Kitten-Garten
Three kittens in kitten-garten.
Whose teacher was a dog.
They had to write their answers
In their daily log.
The dog would ask the kittens,
“Are you ready now?”
Each kitten had to answer,
“Meow, meow, meow.”
They boned up on their math,
Then did their ABCs.
At recess they could climb
Up in the Dogwood trees.
Reading was quite easy,
Since it was doggerel.
They liked the hunting stories;
The end was never dull.
As afternoon wore on,
The kits were catatonics.
They could not concentrate
On reading using phonics.
The kittens studied hard
And they were doggone good.
They soon had puppy friends
In their new neighborhood.

At some point it must have rained cats and dogs in that neighborhood, Roy! Thanks for the read.
Russel, I think you are onto something! Ha! Ha!
So much fun, Roy, especially the catatonic and phonics!
Thank you, Cynthia. I was fun to write.
Enjoyed it too, Roy, and loved the graphic.
Thank you, jd. The graphic certainly fit.
A charming and fun little read, Roy, thanks, and enjoy your weekend –
Thank you, Mark. I appreciate your comment. You have a good weekend, also.
Doggone it, Roy, this one is rather CATchy.
C.B., I love your play on words! Thank you for not being catty.
This would be ideal for a children’s book/anthology.
Cheryl, you have me thinking about some children’s books. I have a lot of poems like this one.
Such a cute little poem, Mr. Peterson. Great rhyming!
Shamik, greatly appreciated comments.
Awww! There’s something Carollesque about this poem, Roy.
I love your comment, Paul! Thank you.
This is a very charming and totally adorable children’s story in poetic format, I love it! It would definitely go well in a story book collection together with matching artwork.
Thank you so much, Yael. Perhaps I shall try to publish a poetic children’s book soon. Maybe I could call myself Dr. Zeus.
A peaceful feline piece to stay young for! Should be easy to collect heartful illustrations, Dr. Zeus.
Thank you, Margaret. That same photographer made several endearing animal photos.
