The Future of Society
I. The Age of AI Is upon Us
The Age of AI is upon us
_all the livelong day.
The Age of AI wants to clone us.
_We cannot get away.
Computers are now all around us
_Ever since we’re born,
If they want to, they’ll confound us
_Till Gabriel blows his horn.
II. The Age of the Drone
Deadly unmanned vehicles
_bringing death and pain.
Deadly in the battlefields
_surrounding the Ukraine.
St. John wrote of a plague of locusts
_bearing iron breastplates
Loud wings, and tails of scorpions
_instigating worse fates.
III. New Cave Dwellers
Mayhem in the public schoolyard.
_Mayhem in Townhall.
Mayhem at the office building.
_Mayhem at the mall.
At home we are the new cave dwellers
_with Wi-Fi internet.
We’ll order pizza, earn degrees,
_Paint walls, and feel all set.

I really enjoyed this sharp poem in three sections, Roy. You are very observant concerning the dangers we face moving forward as a society dependent in artificial intelligence, intrusive technology and sheer laziness in being willing to isolate… Simply because we can. And I especially like this poem ‘s three-part structure. Thank you for this!
